Ernst & Young's Health Sciences Advisory Services (HSAS) is focused on helping healthcare providers strengthen and manage their revenue and understand the risks they must manage in a complex and fast-changing business and regulatory environment. We help clients obtain appropriate reimbursement from government, managed care, and other third-party payers. We also offer services to help providers strengthen their financial management policies and practices, understand their capital needs, and comply with regulatory and reporting requirements. Our team works with a broad spectrum of not-for-profit and for-profit health care clients, including hospitals, healthcare systems, HMOs, academic medical centers, and health insurance companies. Our services address four areas: revenue management, financial performance, regulatory reporting and compliance, and claims management systems. Our Managed Care Service Line has talented and dedicated individuals, supported with proprietary EY Claims Management System (EYCMS) diagnostic tools and advanced technology to assist in identifying managed care contracting opportunities and enhance net revenue. Services include Managed Care Pricing and Contracting Strategy, Managed Care Payment Analysis as well as Contract Negotiation Assistance and Portfolio Rebalancing. ResponsibilitiesManage and exceed client expectations Develop and maintain productive working relationships with engagement team members and clients. Collaborate to plan the engagement. Direct daily fieldwork, information supervisors of the engagement status and manage staff performance and budget. Manage expectations of deliverables and timing. Stay informed of business/economic developments and their impact to the client People Development Encourage independent thinking, innovation and teamwork. Share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Respect/protect confidential client information. Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills. Understand E&Y and its service lines and actively seek/encourage team members to listen to client needs, contribute ideas, and identify potential opportunities to bring value to clients. To qualify, candidates must have: a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required (a CPA, MBA, MHA and/or MPH degree is a plus)a master's degree plus 1-3 years of experience in health care advisory services, preferably with a Big 4 firm, a regional firm, a health care provider or a fiscal intermediary may be accepted in lieu of the bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years of experienceknowledge of Managed Care and industry trends as well as in-depth healthcare software sales and implementation experiencehospital business office and reimbursement experience which includes knowledge in managed care contracting, business terms, rate targeting and profitability strong quantitative and business strategy skills are requiredunderstanding of governmental payors with regard to logging requirements and reimbursement tracking demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple projectsstrong financial, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skillsexcellent written and verbal communication skillsexcellent client service skills are a mustPC proficiency including spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications The successful candidate must also be willing and able to travel.
