IT DIRECTOR

Prominent International Union– Las Vegas, Nevada

 Prominent Las Vegas, Nevada International Union is currently seeking an IT Director, reporting directly to the Chief of Staff. The IT Director manages, maintains, and directs the entire scope of information technology services for the Union and its constituents, including application development, programming, network infrastructure, technical support services, acquisition and implementation of new technologies as well as computer operations. Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating and supervising all information technology and computer department personnel.

Specific responsibilities include maintaining the Union’s current technologies and computer operations while providing leadership and direction for developing an overall modern, cost-effective, and standardized technology infrastructure and architecture; creating short and long term plans and strategies that anticipate the Union’s needs and evaluating positions that need to be created; facilitating technical issue resolution; and managing vendors.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelors or advanced degree in computer science, information technology or related field. Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of work experience and education; minimum of ten (10) years supporting and troubleshooting applications, Local and Wide Area Networks; minimum of five (5) years in IT management; experience in the identification and acquisition of new technologies; experience managing  database development, mainframe operations, network infrastructure and support; working and operating knowledge of UNIX operating system, IBM and Sun platforms, WebSphere, Java, JavaScript, Oracle database and software development and maintenance as well as Windows-based servers/applications; solid understanding of routing protocols, security, telecommunications, and servers.
