IT Production Control Manager

Summary:  Plan, supervise, and coordinate the operations of the EAST Region Production Control Unit (APR).  Duties and responsibilities include:  managing daily operations, formulating policies and planning the use of APR department systems and software. Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements. Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially available software.  Coordinate deployment of existing or new technologies effectively where there is deficiency to better monitor process workflow and improve reliability.  Sites of responsibility currently include KY, AL, and GA as well the possibility of additional SRCP facilities w/in the EAST Region and in need of services offered.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks: Supervise daily operations of the PCU East, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines.  Assign and review the work of PCU personnel both in NY and distributed. Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.  Develop and interpret organizational goals, policies, and procedures.  Evaluate the organization's technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades.  Manage backup, processing and user help systems and utilities / applications.  Meet with department leads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.  Prepare and review operational reports or project progress reports.  Train, schedule, and supervise staff.  Hrs of Operations – 24*6 (dynamic schedule – may vary.)  *Must be willing to participate in periodic off-hours events. Coordinate, Review and approve all PCU department systems, applications and procedures prior to their deployment.  Review project plans in order to plan and coordinate project activity.  Stay abreast of advances in technology.  Review or Recommend new equipment or software packages relevant to daily operations or to ensure future efficiency based on ROI and customer needs / satisfaction to senior management.Supervision Given and Received Must be self-directed and able to work under minimal supervision of the VP of Prod Ctrl; as well coordinate tasks with Development and Business Resources w/in SRCP including Off-shore personnel.  Represent IT to our external customer base when applicable.How many employees does this job typically supervise? 9-12 Qualifications, Skills, & Experience Associates degree or higher in information technology / Business Mgmt. 3 plus years work experience in the information technology field. Microsoft product experience in Office, SQL. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 3-5 yrs experience Project / Staff Management (required)Physical and Visual Activity and Requirements · Must be able to lift and move computer hardware.
