We are looking for an Inside Sales Representative for our pmiDirect group located in Downers Grove, IL. The Inside Sales Representative grows sales in existing markets and expands into untapped markets using inside sales techniques and procedures (i.e. telephone solicitation, direct mail). The incumbent is normally assigned customers from one or more of the following groups: mortgage brokers, smaller correspondents, national account branches and community banks. The Inside Sales Representative solicits PMI products/services with the intent to obtain mortgage insurance. He/She achieves specific sales goals & objectives and works under general direction provided by the Director.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Telephones brokers/originators to obtain mortgage insurance and create relationships. Provides information to customers regarding PMI products, the benefits of MI and the advantages of doing business with PMI.
2. Assists customers with PMI online underwriting tools including initial user set up and ongoing routine support.
3. Utilizes appropriate direct marketing tools to enhance relationships and increase business. May coordinate account direct marketing efforts with Marketing Specialist.
4. Provides excellent customer service to encourage loyalty to PMI and develop new avenues of business opportunity.
5. Profiles each broker/originator and obtains information to aid in the sales process such as: net worth, loan origination systems, automated underwriting (AU)
preferences, areas of operation, technology, email, website technology and investors etc.
6. Assists when necessary to expedite loans in process with PMI.
7. Attends broker/originator functions when required on behalf of PMI.
8. Communicates products and services offered by PMI National Accounts should customer require investors for their products.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge & Skills:
1. Knowledge of the mortgage or mortgage insurance industry and related regulations.
2. Good sales and customers service skills. Ability to persuade and influence.
3. Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively and clearly present information over the phone. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
4. Good general math skills.
5. Proficiency with MS Office products and ability to learn new PC and/or internet-based tools.

Education & Experience: Required knowledge & skills would typically be acquired through an Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent with 2-5 years experience in mortgage processing, underwriting, sales or related positions.
