Communications and Thought Leadership Specialist The purpose of the position is to assist in the development of strategic communications that support the various Global Industry Centers, as well as to assist in the development and execution of strategic internal and external communications initiatives that support the group and firm's goals. Essential Functions of the Job: 1. Writing and editing diverse communications, including brochures and general marketing collateral, articles, speeches, direct mail and various Web and electronic vehicles. 2. Assisting in the development and execution of strategies that enhance the visibility of the global industry centers within the firm as well as the group's effectiveness in serving its clients. 3. Recommends how best to promote communications pieces, educating clients on best practices and selecting appropriate media channels. 4. Managing the Score approval process for various editorial materials. 5. Maintaining high standards of editorial content and global branding. 6. Building and maintaining close working relationships with clients. 7. Managing / coordinating multiple projects. Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities: 1. Work within the SCORE approval process and Legal review to develop editorial materials that meet firm standards for quality and integrity. 2. Using first-rate people skills to take on the editorial revision process involving multiple approvers with competing needs. Knowledge and Skills Requirements: The position requires excellent writing and editing, project management, and people management skills and a strong knowledge of the processes of the firm and how the accounting profession works. Often, what the successful candidate needs to accomplish is clearly stated, but how he/she gets it done is largely determined by their own judgment. In exercising this judgment, the firm's policies as well as applicable laws and best practices will serve as a guide. Other Requirements: Overtime is necessary on an as-needed basis. Attention to detail and deadlines a must. Travel for business purposes may be required 25 percent of the time. Education: Bachelors degree in English, communications, or journalism required.
