Tax is an inescapable dimension of almost every business activity, in every jurisdiction where a company does business. To optimize the financial performance of business operations, tax strategy and business strategy have to work together across a client enterprise. Ernst & Young's International Tax Services (ITS) practice provides a wide range of tax services for many of the world's largest multinational corporations. ITS helps clients identify and address complex domestic and international tax issues and assists them in strategically aligning different areas of taxation. We currently have a career opportunity for a Manager in our ITS practice. ResponsibilitiesITS managers provide timely and high-quality services and work products; build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business; help to develop and guide staff by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals; build on technical competence and apply them to moderately complex situations; demonstrate professionalism by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products; contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of E&Y methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keep team members informed of work status; proactively seek opportunities to provide tax services; challenge traditional procedures used in the past; and attempt to find new approaches. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field; an advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable; a minimum of 4 years (with a master's degree) and 5 years (with a bachelor's degree) of corporate tax experience (preferably international tax but will consider individuals with federal tax experience only) ideally in a professional services environment, or equivalent experience in business or industry; CPA, JD, EA or equivalent certification; broad exposure to federal income taxation; and excellent managerial, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.
