Internet Merchandising Planner
SUMMARY Plans and publishes the content of assigned Footlocker.com e-commerce sites to achieve sales and branding objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develops and executes online marketing plans in collaboration with Marketing Planners, Account Managers, Merchandising Manager and Purchasing to ensure website merchandising and promotional efforts achieve sales objectives, and are inline with brand attributes, catalog and brick & mortar merchandising, external site partners and other marketing/advertising initiatives. Prepares a planogram for each merchandising campaign, identifying every asset for home and category pages, its deployment and removal date. Requests associated graphics from Creative Services. Enters website content into the merchandising/publishing module, and deploys to production environment, refreshing content on home and category pages at least weekly. Selects “you might also like” product offerings, monitors sell-through and continually refines go-togethers to continually increase average order value and average units per order. Analyzes session and sales data daily to help define the optimal for each site, and to maximize sales while providing management with reports and recommendations. Participates in brainstorming meetings with Planners, Account Managers, Merchandising Manager, Graphics and SEO Specialists to define merchandising tactics and promotions while keeping current with SEO guidelines. Generates and implements internet marketing ideas for special promotions associated with sporting events, new product launches, new athletic technology, etc. Maintains the Admin module and internet product information databases to ensure pricing and product presentation follow proper merchandising guidelines for each assigned site. Monitors product mix to assure brand identity is preserved. Performs periodic User Acceptance Testing to support deployment of new features, migration to new platform, and bug fixes. Acts as a backup for other Site Merchandisers as needed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will be a marketing professional with experience in an internet retail environment, and an instinct for providing on-line shoppers with the products and presentation they desire. A.) from four-year college or university; and at least two years of internet marketing or merchandising experience in a comparable internet retail environment. Requires familiarity with Microsoft office suite of software (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, knowledge of Internet language and browsers. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
