Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) was formed in formed in 1998 as part of the restructuring of New York State's electric power industry. Its mission is to ensure the reliable, safe and efficient operation of the State's major transmission system and to administer an open, competitive and nondiscriminatory wholesale market for electricity in New York State. The primary responsibility of the Black Belt is to lead process improvement projects and to train and mentor other staff in Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Specific Responsibilities include:• Lead 2-4 projects per year using DMAIC, DFSS / DMADV and Kaizen / Lean principles• Coach and Mentor Green Belts through to successful project completion• Deliver classroom training on Lean and Six Sigma methodology and tools in classroom environment• Coach LSS Project Champions• Help develop organizational metrics and dashboards• Assist with project identification and prioritizationExperience/Skills:• 2+ years of Black Belt Experience• 7+ years business experience• Black Belt Certification (from NYISO or closely approximating NYISO certification requirements)• Completion of at least two Black Belt projects yielding significant business results• Completion of Black Belt training• = 20 contact hours conducting Green Belt training• = 5 Green Belts mentored to project completion • Experience leading lean projects• Experience with DMADV• Experience managing cross-functional projects• Ability to lead others without direct authority (matrix management)• Excellent written & verbal communication skills • Six Sigma / Lean tool mastery• Strong analytical problem solving skills• Strong team leadership skills and • Project and Change Management experience• Excellent presentation Skills and strong statistical aptitude• Team Player; Enthusiastic; Innovative; IntegrityEducation:• Bachelors Degree required• Masters Degree desirableApply via Monster or send resume to resumes@nyiso.com NYISO has excellent benefits and tremendous career growth opportunities - for more information please visit www.nyiso.com
