Linux Administrator (RS1043)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under minimal supervision, the LINUX ADMINISTRATOR is responsible for support and maintenance of our Production environments and our software configuration management system. The person in this position will respond to all inquiries of systems to which he/she is responsible. The Linux Administrator will use his/her skills and knowledge to support the environments.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Technical Skills Required:
• Expert with Linux (RedHat)
• Experience with Version Control Systems
• Ability to read and write administrative scripts in Perl
• Knowledgeable of IBM, Compaq and Sun hardware
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent documentation skills
• Knowledgeable in Apache including troubleshooting, provising information to development based on logs and system behavior, configuring plug-ins and modules
• Knowledgeable with Java applications servers, including RESIN

Education Required (Certifications, Degrees, Majors, etc.):

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience--N/A,UNIX/Linux
