MOLDING SET UP TECHNICIAN

MAJOR FUNCTION

·  To perform the set-up, cycling and troubleshooting of the molds and machinery in the department, assuring parts are running to the standard cycle and are within quality limits.

·  Quality Assurance Dept.

·  Tooling Department

·  Molding Supervisors

·  Engineering Department

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

·  Set-up and remove molds in a safe and efficient manner as per written procedure.

·  Maintain molding cycles to that of standard or better and remain within quality standards.

·  Proper use of all safety equipment and devices.

·  Ensure proper set-up of all secondary machinery and auxiliary equipment.

·  Complete all necessary documentation regarding set-up sheets, changeovers, mold repair, etc.

·  Training of set-up and material employees.

·  Proper case and storage of all molds and related equipment.

·  Perform minor maintenance on the molding machines, i.e., hydraulic and electrical.

·  Any other duties or tasks which may be assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

·  Good communication skills.

·  Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

·  Heavy lifting frequently.

·  Ability to learn and teach others.

·  Safe practices in handling and operational functions of the varied working procedures.

·  Mechanical ability.
