Manager of Purchasing & Materials Management

This key position reports to the Director of Business Services and provides leadership of the procurement and materials management function for the institution. This position assures that all goods and services are procured in accordance with all laws and regulations of the State of Ohio, those established by the College, while meeting quality needs of the college departments.

The Purchasing & Materials Management Manager is the direct contact with the larger business community; as such the position is frequently the focus of the public's perception of the college as a whole.

Salary will commensurate with experience. This position participates in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.

1.Ensures compliance with State Law and internal policies pertaining to all procurement functions of the institution.
2.Oversees the distribution of U.S. and Interoffice mail in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Verifies proper calculations for internal chargeback for mail services.
3.Collaboratively develops, markets, and implements Purchasing, Materials Management and website policies and procedures that result in effective delivery of all services.

Education and/or Experience: Masters degree in Business or related field preferred. A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required. Minimum five (5) years experience in a purchasing position. The manager must have broad business experience and specific experience and training in procurement techniques, accounting, business law, mail processes and postage regulations. These skills are acquired through formal education and experience. Knowledge is also gained by attending seminars and workshops pertaining to these operations.
