Job ID: 4879Position Description: Manager of Sales Systems Engineer Manager of Sales Systems Engineer position is the focal point of technical responsibility within the sales organization for all sales customer engagements. Expected to have complete product knowledge and ability, technical sales ability, and expert level (in-depth) networking engineering knowledge (including design and troubleshooting). SEs are the technical interface between the Sales organization and all other company departments. Paired with a regional Account Executive, the Pre-sales Engineer is responsible for opportunity qualification, product demonstrations, technical presentations, on-site product installation, training, and support, and coordination with post-sales services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Act as Technical Account Manager for assigned customers • Perform technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects.• Travel to customer sites for pre-sales evaluations, including installation and customization or upgrades of both hardware and software. • Assist with the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities.• Occasionally provide post-sales support and coordinate support with the Support organization.• Provide on-site training to customers about use and administration of networking products.• Understanding and conversant about company, competitors, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.• Possess competitive knowledge including solution, technology and product offerings.• Document future product needs and work with Product Management to facilitate enhancements if needed.• Work with and train channel partner SE’s to successfully complete product evaluations for customers.Position Requirements:• The Manager of Sales Systems Engineer should be capable of handling technical issues of any degree of complexity with no need for supervision or assistance.• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action.• Knowledge and demonstrated operating experience in one or all of the following areas: VPN's, Security, Server Load Balancing, Application Firewalls and WAN optimization.• Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and UNIX (particularly BSD variants). • Expert knowledge of HTTP, DNS, SSL, SMTP and other Internet protocols.• Proficient with packet capture and analysis tools• In-depth familiarity with user authentication technologies and software such as RADIUS, LDAP, TACACS, Active Directory• Familiarity with Enterprise Application Software such as Apache, IIS, WebSphere, Oracle, Siebel, SAP, etc.• Technical sales experience, particularly RFP/RFI and presentation experience. • Mastery of the configuration and troubleshooting of network devices (routers, switches, etc.).• Strong knowledge of VLANS, STP, and Routing protocols.• Expert understanding of Application level attacks, IDS, IPS, Firewalls.• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills required – both oral and written, with the ability to articulate and educate customers about complex technology simply. • Ability to diffuse complicated technical and political situations with enterprise customers.• Minimum 5+ years relevant work experience required. • Computer Science Degree or equivalent work experience recommended..Additional Information: Travel Percentage: 50% Company: Citrix Location: Santa Clara, CA 95050 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Sales/Retail/Business Development Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Education Level: Professional
