JOB SUMMARY

 The Senior Application Engineer assumes responsibility for planning, deploying and supporting approved document imaging and workflow applications for the enterprise.  This person is assigned as a technical resource on various document imaging deployment, upgrade and enhancement projects.  As a senior team member, this person will also perform duties of increasing responsibility such as training and mentoring of new employees and existing staff, providing annual budget input, and establishment and management of target dates.  The Senior Application Engineer will attend key IT&S, business owner, and vendor meetings and represent the Imaging Services team’s interests and responsibilities as necessary.  The Senior Application Engineer will often be involved in multiple projects concurrently, and must be able to manage multiple assignments.

Provide McKesson Horizon patient Folder (HPF) System Administration responsibilities in support of the HIM Shared Services Imaging and WorkFlow initiative.Serve as the primary IT&S contact to the McKesson technical team Development, testing,  implementation and ongoing support of COLD and HL7 interfaces from various disparate sending systems into HPF Coordinate and assist with troubleshooting of input and output device setup with HIM Service Center (HSC) System Administrators Responsible for making project-related decisions related to implementation tasks outlined in the project plan Responsible for development and implementation of standardized strategies Responsible for ensuring a viable change control process is implemented and enforced Assist in functional testing, performance testing and integration testing Responsible for developing system monitoring and downtime procedures Responsible for developing support procedures Coordinate activities other IT&S Departments (e.g., Clinical Systems, Wintel, Storage Mgmt, DBA, Network Services, etc…) with McKesson technical resources Responsible for providing ongoing HPF (and related third-party) application support in a post-implementation mode also, responsible for monitoring ongoing system performance and availability through available automated monitoring tools and other manual efforts Manage the relationship with McKesson Customer Support Responsible for evaluating and implementing system upgrades and patches as required Cross-train other team members on HPF System Administration responsibilities (80% of time) Provide support for other Document Imaging and Workflow applications as required Receive cross-training on other applications from other team members or through classroom training as necessary.  (15% of time) Participate in the Imaging Services On-call support rotation.  (5% of time)

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience and up to 1 year of management experience. 



SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS Experience with remote system administration, support tools & techniques is required McKesson Horizon Patient Folder (HPF) System Administration Certification or training is preferred CDIA+ certification is preferred Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of staff and senior management Strong analytical background Proven application support experience with enterprise-class software solutions, preferably with top-tier Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions Hyland OnBase System Administration certification of Installer Certification is preferred ReadSoft capture/document automation software (Documents For Invoices) experience is preferred Kofax Ascent/ACIS experience and certification is desired Experience with SQL Server administration and query development is desired Strong knowledge of personal computer systems and Microsoft Office (or other similar productivity applications to support e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet applications)
