Description:Responsible for planning, implementing and supporting sales growth strategies for Rockwell Automation Technologies, Inc. Works with Rockwell Automation business units to identify technologies which are marketable to traditional and non-traditional customers. Work with various sales organizations to identify potential customers for these technologies. Work with appropriate local sales people globally, Encompass Program managers, Strategic Alliance managers and other internal customers to help communicate the features/benefits of Rockwell Automation technologies and components as a part of a complex sales cycle. Take a leadership role in developing partnerships with key technology partners. Travel requirements 20-40%.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with all Rockwell Automation business units to identify technology licensing opportunities. Develop business plans, consistent with Rockwell Automations licensing strategies, to market these technologies ("Enablers") to prospective companies. Assume role as relationship manager with these companies throughout the sales cycle.Communicate and support Rockwell Automation's technology licensing strategies to all Rockwell Automation business units, sales groups and customers as appropriate. Develop marketing and sales plans for Enabler technologies that are consistent with Rockwell Automation's marketing and licensing strategies. Take lead role to identify commercial collateral and sales tools necessary to support the Enabler technology sales.Engage and manage opportunities to sell technology to key third parties as identified by the product businesses, service businesses, COEs, Industry Solution Centers, Encompass Program Managers and field sales organizations. Analyze Rockwell Automation, customer and third party requirements to determine how appropriate technology may be applied. Team with these organizations to solve partner problems, influence customer decisions, and champion third party product licensing decisions. Ensure consensus within Rockwell Automation for all licensing opportunities, which may either directly or indirectly impact a product business.Take the lead role in developing and implementing strategies that lead to key product manufacturers supporting our core network strategy by developing NetLinx compatible interfaces to DeviceNet, ControlNet and Ethernet for Control. Work with Value Add Design Partners ("VADP") to maintain strong working relationships. Where appropriate take the lead in utilizing VADPs to help develop core network interfaces for key product manufacturers. Support VADP commercial needs and determine how to best leverage their resources.Responsible for interacting with other department members, including technical, legal, Encompass Program Manager, Alliance Managers and business personnel, to ensure customers successful transition/implementation of technology during the sales cycle. Understand the basic concepts of technology licensing and anti-competitive/antitrust issues as they relate to technology sales.Responsible for the defining and marketing developer services which include development system rentals, lab space, testing, integration etc.Qualifications:EDUCATION: BSEE/CS or equivalent.PRIOR EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Minimum of 5 years in the industrial marketplace. This position requires excellent speaking and presentations skills.
