Operations/Finance Analyst

OPERATIONS / FINANCIAL ANALYST Do you have a great track record and the zeal to win? Monster wants passionate, high-achievers who can think big and succeed even bigger!   Reporting to the VP/GM, Making It Count, the Operations/Financial Analyst is responsible for evaluating and providing statistical recommendations to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of the Making It Count business unit as well as extracting financial data and other company metrics from various accounting and information systems and data sources. Additionally, the Operations/Financial Analyst will perform operational analysis, financial and cost accounting analysis of data and provide strategic dashboard reporting for Making It Count as a whole and each department within the business unit.    Making It Count, a property site of Monster Worldwide, is the industry leader in “edutainment” delivering free educational training to high school and college students and parents nationwide equipping students on how to succeed in college and best prepare themselves to maximize their opportunities upon graduation and to help parents make smart, proactive decisions on behalf of their students. Essential Job Functions: ·Assist in the analysis of financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability · Review costs and perform cost benefit analysis related to projects and/or programs · Perform statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data reported in the various financial systems · Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis · Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, including a thorough understanding and proven experience with accrual-based accounting and the handling of deferred revenue and expenses in a P&L environment ·Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions ·Apply a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verify documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies ·Assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports using various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages ·Partner with the financial and accounting departments within the company to provide budgeting information, reforecasting and budget variance reporting Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, accounting or related field and three years related financial experience required; additional education may be substituted for some experience · Strong understanding of Financial/Accounting principles · Solid analytical abilities with attention to detail · Excellent written and oral communications skills and demonstrated skills in influencing and creative problem-solving · Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, macros, forms, etc.); experience in the setting-up and managing of Microsoft Access databases and Access programming is a plus · Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment There is no relocation assistance offered for this position. Candidates must be willing and able to report to 10296 Springfield Pike, Cincinnati on a daily basis.
