Procurement / Buyer Summary

Our client, a Fortune 500 Global Outsourcing company, is looking to add a key consultant for a long term contract opportunity with their team located in Andover, MA.


Procurement / Buyer Duties & ResponsibilitiesApply standard practices and processes in supporting spot buying for goods or services in direct support of client. Provide fulfillment services for niche and/or client specific needs (i.e., local sourcing, supplier diversity, etc.).Clarify and define end-user requirements formal bidding, supplier selection, contract negotiations and supplier management (tactical). Ensure the firm mitigates risk, operates in a cost effective manner,  and delivers bottom line savings/cost avoidance for the firm.Provide sourcing support services to Category Managers and more senior Category Buyers.


Operational Procurement / Buyer Responsibilities  Review and analyze client requirements to determine the best procurement strategy to meet the needs of the clients.Identify and source potential suppliers based on the requirements provided by client. Maintain and develop working relationships with key customers and suppliers, with a focus on understanding, addressing, and incorporating client-specific contractual requirements into supply agreements.Ensure alignment with broader strategy by collaborating with Category Managers and Global Category leads.Pre-qualify suppliers based on prior experience and performance in the category, financial strengths/ratings, and their ability to meet or to provide current needs.Determine and develop RFx and RFP’s selection model for supplier solicitation. Coordinate and negotiate terms and conditions with legal department to ensure proper contractual obligations as well as pricing with selected supplier. Utilize cost savings methodology established to ensure best pricing.






Essential Procurement / Buyer Skills & Characteristics5+ years experience5+ years procurement experience in manufacturing environmentSAP/SRM experience is a mustExcellent communication and writing skills
