The Assistant Director of Portfolio Project Management works directly for the Global Portfolio director and the its senior management team, and will be responsible for Portfolio Business, Financial Reporting and Project Management Office functions for the portfolio. Has working knowledge of initiating, planning and executing, monitoring & controlling and the closing of projects. To accomplish these tasks, the successful candidate must be able to guide other Project Managers and Business Analysts, as well as lead project teams directly in both a virtual and matrixed environment, and know how to apply project management processes, including managing stakeholder expectations, customer presentations, communications, budgetary P&L management, scheduling management, performance reporting of a initiatives/projects. This individual will maintain scope, cost and schedule of simple to complex projects through management of the project and interaction with the project stakeholder, including development and maintenance of project management plan and communication. This individual serves as a role model by demonstrating commitment to commonly adopted software development lifecycle, methodologies, processes and standards for project management. Candidate will provide project management support for initiatives that cut across the entire portfolio such as Application Redundancy Program, Visual Identity, SLA/Service Management, and Executive Status reporting. Candidate will have sponsoring business unit and application-specific knowledge for all platforms and products supported within the portfolio. The successful candidate should have a background in financial P&L management, be very detail-oriented, and a proven record with reporting financial statements on a monthly basis. This position will also ensure that the core team reaches the desired quality level; create and gain approval of formal SOWs; facilitate core team meetings and maintain master project schedules; analyze and report actual performance vs. goals. Establish clear objectives and deliverables for the programs that support the business. Schedule and run all phases of program and project. Manage major risks and issues through effective planning and escalation. Essential functions of the Job: Advanced understanding of scope, schedule, planning; Moderate understanding of time management, resource management, communications management and cost management Create and develop the project scope and schedule for simple to complex project; plans and assigns resources to associated tasks and deliverables as appropriate, manage resources and tasks based on the plan. Create and maintains predefined project documentation (reporting, meeting...) Works with project team to identify risk, cost resource and dependencies. Develops and maintains relationship with project stakeholders and manage stakeholder expectations Exceptional communication, documentation and presentation skills Proactively identifies and addresses project risks and opportunities; Explains difficult issues and works to establish consensus with project team; Communicates issues and status reports to supervisors and stakeholders. Job Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience Experience:Minimum of 5 years experience in Project Management and Financial Management in complex environments. Experience working with diverse initiatives/projects. Extensive Project Management experience with state of the art application development solutions. Demonstrated understanding of business processes and how technology enables those processes. Proven ability to grasp complex issues to and to be responsive to customer requirements Ability to coordinate multiple diverse time sensitive tasks.
