The result is better care and a reduction in overall health care costs.  The Provider Relations and Network Development Specialist (PRADS) owns and is accountable for UBH's Provider Network in assigned States. The PRADS is responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting on the network in a manner that will assure member satisfaction in areas of appointment availability, breadth of choices, convenience of locations and quality of service. In this connection, the Network Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining ongoing relationships with administrative and management contacts re: outpatient practitioners and inpatient programs. The PRADS works cooperatively with other UBH departments including Care Management, EAP, Intake, Medical Supervision, Account Management and Sales/New Business. Identify methods and formats for providing education/training to providers, including communications, live presentations, and information provided over the Internet. Coordinate presentations with all departments as requested.Develop and implement written provider education/training materials, protocols and curricula for workshops and/or seminars in targeted subject areas. Participate in conferences and seminars offered by public and private organizations.Review and implement methods for evaluating and reporting the impact of provider education/training activities, and refine strategies and methods of provider education/training based on the results of these evaluations.Develop written materials to be distributed to providers for their members.Participate in Performance Improvement activities including attending designated Performance Improvement meetings.Conduct and/or participate in special projects as directed. Demonstrated experience and ability in developing provider or facility networks Previous experience with providers and facilities as a practitioner, provider, case manager helpful MA/MS degree in business, healthcare administration or related field or equivalent experience 3-5 years experience in physician and provider relations preferred PC literacy with proficiency in use of computer spreadsheets and data bases Willingness to engage in business travel Strong strategic and business acumen; well grounded in health care delivery systems Demonstrates capability to get results in a complex, sometimes ambiguous environment Capable of managing a variety of complex issues while driving momentum of key projects Ability to build strong relationships within and outside of UBH Demonstrates expert negotiation skills Excellent problem solving&analytic skills Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: equal opportunity employer M/F/D/VUnitedHealth Group is a drug-free workplace.  Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
