Quality Assurance Specialist

Primary Responsibilities:

Mosaic is looking for a mid-to-senior level employee (three years experience or more) to fill a role as Quality Assurance Specialist.  This individual will be responsible for implementing and executing test plans for a variety of Microsoft software solutions, tracking and managing defects, and managing software solution deployment.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·  Test plan authoring and management, including reviewing business requirements and software functional specifications to devise and document detailed test plans, including:

o Use case authoring

o Understanding class diagrams

o UML Sequence, State, and Activity diagramming

o User interface testing

·  Software build and test server management, including:

o Installing, configuring, and maintaining automated build environments for Microsoft software solutions using Visual Studio.

o Running automated and manual builds.

o Working with software developers to understand each project’s build process.

o Documenting build processes.

o Managing access to test environments, both internally and externally.

·  Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) management, including:

o Authoring and executing test scripts against documented test plans.

o Implementing “white-box” and “black-box” testing approaches.

o Unit, Integration, and Regression testing.

·  Defect tracking and resolution, including:

o Defect creation, classification, and assignment.

o Issue resolution w. software development staff.

o Management of defect tracking software solutions.

·  Release management, including

o Engaging in in-depth conversations with project management, account management, and leadership to address high-level, strategic defect-related issues.

o Taking responsibility for approving release candidates for client review.

·  Application deployment and documentation

o Designing, documenting, and managing software deployment for go-live.

o Working with clients to overcome deployment obstacles.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Mid / Senior level – no less than three years experience in quality control positions, touching on all aspects of listed “Essential Duties & Responsibilities.”

·  Familiarity with Bug Tracker open-source defect management solutions.

·  Familiarity with Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2008.

·  Some experience in with software development methodologies & design.

·  Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
