Position Overview
This position is responsible for the regional human resource function for field operations to include our Hotel Services and End User divisions. The RVP Human Resources will provide guidance to management and employees regarding a broad variety of human resource management issues. This position plays a critical role in achieving the business objectives of the Company by leading programs covering recruitment, performance management, communications, legal compliance, employee relations, salary administration, succession planning and counseling.
Position Accountabilities
Organizational Leadership (25%)
Develop a business partnership with management; advise on the HR impact of business objectives, and provide continuous support and interpretation on HR policies and employee relations issues. Act as a change facilitator to ensure management recognizes, addresses, implements and follows through on action items identified through employee Work Life Forums and other channels. Plan and manage the implementation of all HR processes ; recommend new programs, policies or procedures that will enhance the Company’s performance. Partner with Compensation, Benefits, Employee Services and Training to provide information and guidance on issues that effect the field and the business units.
Recruitment & Staffing (25%)
Manage the recruitment, selection and staffing process for all operations in assigned regions. Work with business unit managers to forecast staffing needs based on growth, succession and turnover. Anticipate needs and allocate recruiting resources and requisition loads to ensure a high level of customer service to hiring managers. Understand the labor market and work with recruiters to develop strategies for hard to fill positions. Assist management in developing their high potential employees and creating regional succession plans.
Employee Relations, Performance Management, HR Training (25%)
Counsel and advise management in handling various employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions and terminations to ensure legal and consistent resolution. Prepare and present training on a variety of current human resource issues, e.g. anti-harassment, performance management, etc. Monitor the performance management process and assist management in implementation and successful use of the process while following Company compensation and salary administration guidelines. Implement the practices necessary for the company to comply with all applicable legal requirements and regulations. Areas of focus include FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, workplace disclosures, workers compensation, wage and hour laws, Title VII and state anti-discrimination laws.
People Development (25%)
Create a structure that results in effective delivery of HR services to the region and supports the growth of the business. Lead HR team members and foster their professional development with a focus on teamwork and cooperation. Provide strategic direction to staff and allocate the resources necessary to achieve objectives. Manage selection, salary administration, performance management and employee relations for the HR team in assigned region.
Job Requirements10 years plus human resource manager experience in a service industry, preferably in a multi-state environment Bachelors degree requiredStrong base of HR technical knowledgeAbility to effectively partner with all levels of regional management using strong influence skills.
