Regional Diversity Manager
Corporate Law Firm DLA Piper, a leader in the practice of law worldwide, seeks a Regional Diversity Manager to manage and coordinate regional diversity efforts. This person will implement diversity initiatives and strategies by working through the local diversity committee structure and interfacing with senior firm management. The Regional Diversity Manager will support, coordinate and implement diversity efforts for an assigned region.-Liaisons with recruitment coordinators, hiring partners and hiring committees. Reviews and supports recruitment efforts with respect to diversity, including participation on hiring committee, call backs and interviews.-Coordinates regional integration and cooperation on recruitment and retention efforts.-Coordinates diversity support of all campus interviews.-Organizes and supports the development of local diversity committees. Develops programming support and supports all campus outreach activities.-Serves as a resource for local office management. Advises practice group leaders, managing partners and all partners on diversity issues - both internal and external.-Performs qualitative assessment of diversity initiatives in regional offices. Assesses and analyzes trends and issues that need to be addressed and supported.-Works with professional development to monitor and measure the success of the mentor program.-Develops and support informal mentor program within affinity groups and summer programs.-Other duties as assigned. MBA or related field required. JD preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.Six to eight years in a law firm environment with at least three to four years of professional diversity experience. Strong Microsoft office skills especially in Word and Excel.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with lawyers, staff and potential candidates on a regular basis. Must have strong project management skills to organize efforts between a variety of parties.
