We are looking for a Remedy Resolutions Counselor in our Walnut Creek office. The Remedy Resolutions Counselor mitigates losses by negotiating settlements, interpreting contracts and processing payments. The incumbent operates under defined practices, with some latitude to determine methods, works independently on assignments and receives guidance on new or complex assignments.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Monitors and maintains remedy request files from the UW (Underwriter) Remedy group that have been identified as having material errors and ensures the proper remedy has been selected. Works on more complex remedy resolutions.
2. Negotiates and limits financial losses to PMI by reviewing documentation and discussing/advising lender findings with the appropriate lender as well as the Remedy Resolution Manager.
3. Interperts terms of contract and ensures remedy resolutions are within the parameters of the contract.
4. Audits loss statement as well as supporting documents filed by customers for the purpose of remedy payment.
5. Processes payments in a timely manner according to the contract. Additionally, ensures remedy resolution is a viable option stated in the contract.
6. Monitors and maintains the department’s foreclosure and REO (Real Estate Owned) pipeline to ensure the timely processing, marketing efforts of REO loans and detailed follow up on the loans in the assigned customer pipeline.
7. Works with individual lenders/investors regarding the remarketing of loans by bidding out individual or Pool loans. Monitors and maintains the Bid process of loan sales through the awarding stage and funding to the successful bidder (Lender).
8. Maintains acurate records, updates system comments, reports and department spreadsheets.

Education & Experience: Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5+ years related experience.
