Research Associate, Technology

The Technology Sector has over 120 members globally, with the Americas Technology Sector currently being led out of Boston.

 

The Boston office is a rapidly growing area of focus of the firm and seeks to hire an additional Research Associate for the Technology Sector. We seek a professional with ideally three to five years of business experience to strengthen our existing team. Researchers provide the foundation of a rigorous search process to identify the best candidates swiftly and effectively. This position will provide support in candidate identification and business development activities for the technology practice and will collaborate with colleagues based in Boston and elsewhere.

 

Reporting directly to the Area Manager in Boston and indirectly to the Regional Research Director, the Research Associate’s immediate goals will be identifying and qualifying candidates in search execution, and partnering on business development presentations. S/he will work closely with recruiters based in Boston as well as in other offices and be responsible for:

  Supporting the search consultants in the execution of senior level search engagements. This includes creating search engagement strategies necessary to identify outstanding candidates and then executing the candidate identification and profiling processes through secondary sources. The Research Associate will participate in client calls and meetings and provide materials including target company lists, comprehensive market maps and potential candidates profiles. Participating in candidate development. When appropriate, the Research Associate will source knowledgeable industry sources and, over time, manage candidates through the search process, including candidate approaches and referencing. Preparing materials for new business meetings and presentations. These may include information on relevant search assignments, target market and company lists, market intelligence, and potential candidate profiles. Tracking industry developments, including information on clients and target companies, to develop a personal knowledge base and to share with the sector as a whole.  The Research Associate will leverage internal and external resources to become well-versed in the practice s/he participates in and share that knowledge globally within the firm. S/he will also undertake special practice-related projects as needed.

  Minimum two years of post-college business experience and strong academic credentials. Successful track record of achievement in a fast-paced, learn-on-the-job business environment.  Proven ability to work with senior internal clients. Outstanding listening, written and oral communication skills. Particularly, the ability to interact credibly with people from all levels of an organization, both in person and on the telephone. Facility with technological support tools such as word processing, on-line tools and PowerPoint. Experience using a variety of proprietary and non-proprietary databases and other research tools in business information management. Highly organized self-starter who is able to prioritize multiple tasks and deliver to deadlines. Independent and confident personal style with a high degree of integrity and attention to detail. Ability to sift large amounts of information, quickly identify the salient points and provide relevant insights. Interest in the Technology industry and ability to understand, analyze and discuss technical products and service offerings.
