Research Manager (San Francisco)

 

The Nickelodeon Kids & Family Digital Research Group is seeking a Manager-level Web analytics specialist to oversee reporting on site metrics and competitive research for the AddictingGames and Shockwave sites. This person will report directly to the Director of Online/Digital Research in NYC.  The Research Manager will be responsible for working with the analytics team in NYC to help develop reports used to gain insights into our online audiences. They will be expected to be a resource for their AddictingGames and Shockwave clients, supporting them with analytics reports, competitive industry insights, and other research-driven information. In addition, they may be asked to assist on primary research projects run by the Director or Senior Director.  Candidate must work well under pressure and be able to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously. 

 

Requirements/Skills.

· Overall knowledge of Digital Media industry - including online (broadband), wireless & gaming, and other emerging technologies

· A passion for numbers and the ability to use them to tell a story regarding site performance, consumer trends, and competitive analysis

· Self motivated and able to work unsupervised.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong ability to multi-task, think strategically and problem solve.

· Strong quantitative and analytical skills

· Ability to give insightful presentations to top level executives on site’s performance and competitive analysis

· Work with technology on behalf of research department to develop tracking mechanisms to monitor broadband and social networking content areas.

 

 Experience/Education Requirements:

· 3-5 years of online media analytics experience

· Exceptional knowledge of web analytics systems and syndicated services (Media Metrix, Nielsen//Netratings, eMarketer; knowledge of Omniture SiteCatalyst a plus).

· Expertise with Microsoft Excel (including use of Pivot Tables, if-then analysis, and trend analysis) and Powerpoint (including use of tables, graphs, etc.)

· Strong understanding of new media and digital platforms

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Experience with online gaming Websites a plus
