We are actively recruiting for a Research Manager/Director for our Systems Integration Business Strategies research program. This position provides expert opinion, market analysis and research, competitive analysis, and consulting on key aspects of the systems integration industry to IT services companies, end users, and investment firms. In addition to analyzing the key trends and drivers of the systems integration industry, the Manager/Director will evaluate the marketing and sales strategies, partnering approaches, and business models of leading systems integrators. This individual will work in both a collaborative environment developing group insights and predictions on the services industry and regional variations in delivery models and on broad, multi-national custom research projects. At the same time, the individual will be responsible for identifying and executing compelling and relevant research topics that will be valuable to their own clients.
Responsibilities include: responding to client inquiries for information, insight and opinion; writing compelling research; conducting custom and ongoing quantitative and qualitative research; developing and maintaining close relationships with customers and prospects; and identifying services for IDC to deliver to its clients.
The key skills required for this position are the ability to analyze and speak articulately about industry trends and events, and the ability to form concrete and actionable recommendations for clients based on that analysis. The job requires excellent research and writing skills, solid speaking skills and strong interpersonal skills to enable both collaboration and customer service, as well as the ability to engage with clients at high levels. The successful candidate will be collaborative across IDC, have a very curious mind about technology and technology services and possess the ability to see the big picture. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree and preferably more than nine years of experience in system integration, IT consulting or in a relevant industry. An MBA, though not required, would be a plus. This position requires a highly developed sense of time management and decisiveness, as well as a strong sense of ownership in the individual brand value of the research and a strong desire to see that brand value expanded. Candidates must possess self-confidence balanced with a developed sense of teamwork and leadership.
This position will be based in our Framingham office and will require between 10% & 30% travel.
