This position is responsible for development of and enhancement of statistical algorithms used to ensure quality of incoming scanning data.This position also uses scanning data to conduct research related to questions posed by internal and external clients.This position must interact with members of Measurement Science, other Nielsen staff, and occasionally external clients to further development of products or research into questions around current products or data.This requires the ability to think independently and yet work effectively in large or small teams. Good communication skills are a must. Prior research experience is preferable as is experience manipulating and summarizing very large data sets. Some experience with SAS is required but an expert command of the language is preferred. Experience with Excel is also required. Ideal candidate will be thorough and detail-oriented with a natural curiosity and propensity to research and analyze and question. Self-motivated and able to work independently are important skills.QualificationsSupports the development and enhancement of statistical algorithms used to ensure data quality of incoming scanning data.Supports research using retail scanning data to answer questions posed by internal and external clients.Is able to lead a small team of researchers engaged in research related to projects underway as part of larger interdepartmental teams.Must be able to think independently and creatively to solve problems or address concerns.Has good communication skills and attention to detail but is able to generalize results and see broad applicability or extensions.
