Retiree & Benefits Analyst

Administer the retiree benefit and pension plans for all retirees and vested term plan participants.  Communicate plan changes regarding these plans to employees, retirees and vested terms.  Act as contact with all plan vendors regarding changes to plans and any issues with plan participants.   Relationship of Job to Management   This position reports to the Director, Benefits & Compensation.   Supervisory Responsibilities   None.   Duties and Responsibilities   1.  Administer the pension plan by processing monthly reports, requests for pension estimates, new terminations/retirements, death processing, address changes, etc. (30%) 2.  Administer retiree benefit plans including monthly reports, claims issues, open enrollment communication, death claim processing. (25%) 3.  Maintain retiree database and pension calculator; update changes as necessary, add new vested terms and retirees as needed, work with HRIS/IS for process improvement.. (15%) 4.  Provide active employee population assistance with processing prior service credit; life insurance portability/convertibility and retirement planning. (10%) 5.  Work on special projects as assigned. (10%) 6.  Compile, review and submit pension data information for annual valuation of retirement plan. (5)% 7.  Review trends and changes relating to healthcare for both active employees and retirees through various media sources. (5%)   Requirements   ·  Bachelor’s degree and less than two (2) years experience in pension plan administration ·  Or AA degree and four plus (4+) years experience in pension plan administration ·  Or High School diploma and specialized HR certification
