Ernst & Young's Risk Advisory Services (RAS) unit is a specialty advisory practice that provides integrated market, credit and operational risk management as well as regulatory, finance and performance management, process improvement, and treasury advisory services to financial institutions. RAS includes individuals who are industry, client and product specialists as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. Our professionals work together to coordinate the delivery of value-added advisory services to a variety of clients. These clients include universal, commercial and retail banks, investment banks, credit card companies, mortgage companies, broker-dealers, asset managers, insurance companies and energy trading companies. Responsibilities: The Capital Markets Manager will participate in client business relationship development, opportunity and sales generation, managing people and projects, product development, team development, and service delivery. The successful candidate will be a self starter who is highly motivated to develop business relationships with target clients and transform relationships and other opportunities into successful advisory service projects. They will actively lead and oversee service delivery teams as well as provide hands on involvement to provide outstanding quality service to our clients. The Capital Markets Manager will work directly with clients in Middle Office, Business Unit Finance, Operations, and technology to deliver solutions to clients' business, process, and technology issues. To sell and deliver these comprehensive services, we are looking for individuals with: A minimum of 5 years of experience working in capital markets (including consulting), with experience in retail brokerage, and / or institutional sales and trading. Business knowledge and experience in areas such as front office, operations, middle office, finance, compliance, risk management, or risk technology. Hands on experience / knowledge in capital markets activities such as regulatory and financial reporting and analysis, management reporting, transaction processing, cost analysis, risk technology enablement and risk management. Ability to call upon clients, define their needs and respond with relevant products and services. Ability to research client inquiries and emerging issues, including rules, regulations, and industry practices. Flexibility, initiative, strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, and sound professional judgment. A desire to identify opportunities and participate in the sale of advisory services. A desire to manage and supervise teams and manage projects. Strong communication, presentation, technical writing skill and interpersonal skills. PC proficiency, including MS Office. A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field. An MBA or master's degree in finance, accounting, or economics is a plus. PMI Project Management certification is a plus. Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification a plus. Ability to travel approximately 20% - 40% is expected.
