That's why Ernst & Young created Risk Advisory Services (RAS) ' a platform that offers a single global approach to meeting clients' full spectrum of risk management needs. Within EY's RAS practice, the Manager participates in and supervises multiple client engagement teams and other related activities. Engagements focus on helping clients assess, improve, and monitor business issues related to the application of information technology. Engagements vary considerably in size and complexity but all aim toward helping to improve IT and business performance. The Technology Architect function brings a specialized focus to the traditional manager role. Specifically, this project leader focuses on working with business and IT professionals to optimize the enterprise information technology architecture to meet the needs of the business. The Technology Architect has to understand the business requirements (both functional and non-functional) of customers (both internal and external) and translate those into requirements into applicable solutions (infrastructure models, processes and software). The candidate will assist our clients in defining the overall system architecture and drive the design and implementation of a proposed solution(s). This requires an individual who can demonstrate the ability to think strategically, multi-directional, cost effective and make high level decisions for designing an architecture focused on enterprise performance and efficiency. The candidate must be able to apply a thorough understanding of complex information systems and their application to various business situations which will meet not only current but anticipated future line of business and technology requirements. This includes existing and new technology in all areas of information technology including hardware, operating systems, networks, databases, storage and infrastructure services, as well as components, data, and the development tools. The Technology Architect will be asked to help our clients and various stakeholders weigh strategic technology decisions by providing the expected business value, potential risks and total cost of ownership. The candidate will also be looked upon to help our clients set strategy (policy, standards, principles, and guidelines) related to information technology architecture, infrastructure, and the design of applications. The candidate will be looked upon to keep apprised of the latest technologies (networks, platforms, applications, database modeling, storage and programming techniques) and help translate them into technology standards, policies and processes.QualificationsAbility to travel up to 40% Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline Minimum of 5 years experience in IT solution delivery (programmer, architect, project manager) in the development of distributed applications in heterogeneous environments/architectures for multi-user systems. Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience would be acceptable for those holding an applicable graduate degree Strong problem solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills to anticipate client challenges and opportunities Demonstrated project management skills Establishing project goals, milestones, estimations and other planning directives Set expectations with clients and engagement teams Understand long term vision and strategy for technology and related processes Use current technology and tools to enhance deliverables and services Strong technical skills including: Broad architectural experience (including PC based, n-tiered web based systems, hosted services, and messaging) Practice of programming (Java development, J2EE / .net, XML, C/C++, In-depth knowledge and proven practical experience with object-oriented technology Strong relational database and scripting skills (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server) An experience with systems integration projects, integration patterns and integration technologies Working knowledge of requirements documentation and requirements management methodologies and tools (e.g., RUP, OOD, UML) Knowledge of information security, cyber security, intrusion detection, and hacking techniques Software development experience in processes, standards, and techniques: requirements, design, build, test, deploy is preferred Rapid development Familiarity with commercial test tools (e.g., Mercury Interactive Suite) is desired Requirements management within the a systems development life cycle (SDLC) Ability to review coding of systems/sub-systems to ensure they are in sync with the overall architecture, design and agreed guidelines & standards Experience with 3 rd party software solutions Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills Leadership, teamwork and client service skills Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment Candidates must hold or be actively pursuing related professional certificationsIN-Indianapolis
