Sales Executive/Account Manager

Our client is the Professional/Association division of a well-known national educational publishing company. This division creates custom materials for ongoing education of the membership of major national professional associations. They have asked us to locate a new Sales Representative/Accounts Manager to market these services to professional associations and professional education groups in Washington DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia. Responsibilities also include signing authors, negotiating royalties and managing the entire project from manuscript through final publication. This is an established territory with an existing base of established accounts with whom our client already has developed strong rapport and ongoing repeat business. The ideal candidate will have a 4 year degree and 2 or more years professional sales, with a documented track record of success, as evidenced by stack rankings, awards and commendations. Business-to-Business sales experience or other business development type selling is preferred. Strong account management skills and the ability to build and maintain rapport with key decision makers are important qualifications. Experience selling to associations or experience in publishing sales would be helpful. The successful candidate can expect to earn $80-85K or more the first year, consisting of a starting salary of $55-60K plus bonus which adds an average of $20-30K per year, although your bonus could be higher based on personal performance. In addition, you will receive a company car and all travel and territorial operating expenses, as well as an excellent benefit package and high visibility for advancement into management positions within the company.  This position requires specific experience.
