Senior Communication & Pursuits Strategist - McLean - 00I0C

The Senior Communications and Pursuit Strategist (CaPS) provides strategic and tactical support as part of an Area Business Development team. Senior CaPS proactively manage their pursuit team to develop a communications plan through campaigns, qualifications, proposals, oral presentations and other documents to help win new business. The Senior CaPS also oversees adherence to all steps of the proposal process and firm guidelines. He/she actively participates in the development of proposal strategy, authoring proposals, and company research and proposal production and may specialize in a few specific industries or functional areas. Responsibilities Co-develop strategic and tactical proposals and campaigns with Business Development executives and client service professionals to win new business. Develops proposals for business opportunities and responds to proposal requests. Researches and writes standard and customized proposals. Work closely with business development executives and senior management to develop responses that convey a unique proposal strategy for the client. Has integral involvement in the proposal process from inception to completion, e.g. integration into Orals preparation. Build relationships with industry/practice leaders. Identify opportunities to build strategic alliances to achieve business goals. Prioritizes proposal writing assignments and coordinates the flow of information from various department contributors to ensure that all deadlines are met. Manage multiple proposals simultaneously. Serve as liaison between internal teams and creative services. Ensure compliance with firm's independence policy. Assist Business Development Executives in the identification of opportunities through market research, business plan review and client meetings. Monitor and analyze the impact of business/financial news on clients. Take a proactive role in driving the pursuit process including the relationship map and following through on action items to ensure a coordinated effort by the account team. Provide direction and mentoring to more junior team members, including the CaPS Assistant. Provides strategic input on key pursuits and may work directly with client service on opportunities without a Business Development Executive. Receives general supervision and review of work generally occurs at longer intervals. May manage the work of others. Often works as project manager for proposals.To qualify, candidates must have:a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience approximately 5-7 years of relevant work experience; communications experience is desirable demonstrates effective understanding and application of principles and practices of pursuits and communications ability to coordinate multiple projects and initiatives at one time must have demonstrated project management experience must have strong written communications skills and a solid technology background strong working knowledge of a professional services organization As the job involves preparing materials for clients, long hours are required.
