The Global Leader in Business Technology Media
Senior Director User Experience, InformationWeek and TechWeb Network
TechWeb, the global leader in business technology communities, is an innovative business focused on serving the needs of technology decision-makers and marketers worldwide. TechWeb produces the most respected and consumed media brands in the business technology market. Today, more than 13.3 million business technology professionals actively engage in our communities created around our global face-to-face events including Interop, Web 2.0, Black Hat and VoiceCon; online resources like the TechWeb Network, Light Reading, Intelligent Enterprise, InformationWeek.com, bMighty.com, and Financial Technology brands; and the market leading, award-winning InformationWeek Magazine, TechNet Magazine, MSDN Magazine and Wall Street & Technology magazines. TechWeb also provides end-to-end services ranging from next-generation performance marketing, custom media, research, and analyst services.
As the Director User Experience you will help make our online communities as leading-edge as they should be in the context of strategic intent---we don't want to be known as a crazy place for experimental widgetry, but we do want to be known for the vibrant and rich experiences our communities have in all interactions with our products and services. In that context, some lively front-edge approaches are ideal. You will also help drive revenue and profit growth and create not only new products and services but also a culture that treasures this type of market-focused and audience-focused innovation. This role requires you to straddle the challenging dual roles of tactical implementation resulting in getting stuff out the door, with the highly strategic role of being out on the sharp end of our efforts to take our excellent content and related offerings and dramatically expand their impact, visibility, excitement, engagement, and market acceptance.
.
Responsibilities/requirements/skills:
1) Lead the external expression of how users experience and interact with our suite of online products. This includes design, development, content, new technology, community-driven philosophy, and increasing levels of applications and engagement.
2) Lead (but sometimes follow) the internal collaboration that pulls together architecture, existing and new products, and existing and new processes in a way that supports market opportunity and audience innovation. Deeply collaborative planning and execution across various functional areas to make possible and enhance the user experience and interaction.
3) Infuse, inspire, integrate, and enhance the deployment of new technologies and processes that help transform our online products and services from somewhat-passive destinations to rich and deeply interconnected sources of applications and community engagement plus blogs, video, news, opinion, analysis, and more.
4) Help accelerate the seamless integration of non-editorial content offers into the content mainstream: from Performance Marketing, Community Development, webcasts, events, TechWeb Digital Library, and more.
5) With Content leaders, help drive the relentless adoption of new social and mobile ideas, tools, processes, and experiments across the internal teams and, if appropriate, our communities.
6) Help increase engagement via greater time on site, more pages per visit, more downloads per visit, more applications per visit, more registrations, more e-mail permissions, more webcast signups, etc.
