TechWeb, a division of United Business Media, LLC, has an immediate need for a Senior Editor, Custom Events.

Job Summary: This position is being created due to the enormous growth in TechWeb’s in-person and online custom events, including Webcasts. You will be responsible for working directly with clients, in both a pre-sales and post-sales capacity, to develop, plan and execute event content as part of a broader, integrated marketing program.

 

As part of TechWeb Marketing Services content development team you will share responsibility for custom-content projects undertaken by the team, such as custom Websites, videos and publications.

 

Responsibilities:

·  Consult with TechWeb sales drivers and clients on event focus, content and agendas. Prepare event content proposals for client review.

·  Work with TechWeb custom event project managers and clients on event planning, development and execution including:

o Event positioning and marketing

o Agenda planning

o Speaker identification, recruitment and coaching

o Event presentations

o Event hosting, moderating and emcee duties

o Event speaking and participation

·  Contribute to TechWeb custom content product and integrated marketing program planning efforts.

·  Undertake pre- and post-sales planning and execution of other custom products including:

o Websites and Briefing Centers

o Videos

o Podcasts

o Research Reports

o Blogs

o Print inserts and supplements

 

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

·  Deep familiarity with the IT industry is a must

·  Strong Editorial background including writing, editing, magazine and Web site development and writer management

·  Experience conceptualizing, planning and executing Webcasts and in-person events

·  Ability to shape event content, messaging and agendas

·  Public speaking experience - ability to present well and engage an audience on industry-related topics

·  Previous client facing experience is a plus

 

This position will require some travel (up to 30%) but does offer the opportunity to work virtually.
