Ernst & Young's Financial Services Office (FSO) is a unique, industry-focused business unit that provides a broad range of integrated services that leverage deep industry experience with strong functional capability and product knowledge. The FSO includes individuals who have industry, client and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. Our teams typically work with a variety of clients, including commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers (traditional and alternative), insurance companies and energy trading companies. Our Finance & Performance Management practice within the FSO helps clients better align their organizations' operating infrastructures with their strategies. We have a broad range of capabilities to assist clients with operational improvement, profitability management, finance function activities, and business integration. Our professionals focus on the assessment and redesign of business, risk, and control processes and the refinement of operating models. The goal is to support our clients' efforts to make their business units more effective and efficient and, where required, provide services in connection with the remediation and mitigation of process risk. Our experience is also important to the analysis of specific business requirements for alignment with technology architecture, technology infrastructure design, and vendor selection decisions. The Senior Manager has a significant role in the identifying and leading engagements, ensuring project quality, and mentoring and developing managers and seniors. Primary Responsibilities: } Play a lead role within pursuit activities to develop/maintain client relationships and secure new client projects } Research emerging industry trends, regulatory guidance, and leading practices } Lead, mentor and train multiple E&Y engagement teams } Advise clients on a variety of operational, technology and business process issues } Develop work plans and approaches for projects, including defining roles and responsibilities } Critically analyze the policies, procedures, people, processes, and identify opportunities for enhancement } Develop and document recommendations to improve operational effectiveness, enhance internal controls, reduce risk and enable technology } Perform oversight and quality review of engagement work products to meet Ernst & Young's high quality standards and ensure engagement objectives are met } Summarize and communicate results and recommendations based upon analyses performed in a concise and meaningful way for client senior management } Design and implement creative and practical solutions to meet client objectives } Maintain and grow a network of industry contacts } Assist in the recruiting and hiring of Asset Management Finance &Performance Management personnel Requirements Qualified candidates must have the following: } A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (industry or professional services) } Excellent written and verbal communication skills } Demonstrated teamwork capabilities and leadership skills } Attention to detail and quality } Superior problem solving and analytic skills } Ability to multi-task and quickly respond to changing priorities } A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; MBA a plus } CPA, CA or relevant professional license a plus Industry knowledge and experience in the following areas: } Asset management product knowledge including mutual funds, hedge funds, institutional separate accounts, and managed/wrap accounts. } Significant front, middle and back office processes and systems within asset management organizations } Strong knowledge of financial instruments and supporting operational processes and systems } Firm grasp of industry issues and trends } Knowledge of risk and regulatory compliance concepts prevalent in securities and asset management organizations Functional knowledge and experience in the following areas: } Project and program management } Designing, operating and evaluating internal controls relative to finance and operational functions within the asset management industry } Identifying, assessing and managing risk } Corporate or investment accounting concepts, principles, and tools } Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Visio) Overall professional skills: } Strong written and verbal communication skills demonstrated in senior management presentations } Demonstrated team work capabilities and leadership skills, with a preference for a project oriented, collaborative work style } Strong relationship management, business development, and/or sales experience } Self-starter and independent worker } Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure of project deadlines and quality standards All candidates must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally 50%-60%.
