Software Developer-Lead

PSI (www.policy-studies.com) is a rapidly expanding, nationally recognized provider of outsourcing, technology, and consulting services to health and human services organizations.This position provides a key leadership role bridging client direction with daily technical operations within the software development environment. The position will allow the right candidate to showcase their leadership skills through coordinating, mentoring and monitoring a software development team. The right candidate will have the ability to adapt to different methodologies, gauge quality, and run with projects assigned to them using cutting edge technology! • Leads software development efforts and delivers high quality products that are on time and within budget parameters. Ensures that all requirements for the software development project are understood and met. • Acts as a product expert within assigned product line. Partners with counterparts in the project management organization (PMO) and business line on product direction. Leads, delegates, and/or mentors the individual project development team on detailed design documents. • Leads, delegates, and/or mentors on developing programming specifications. Ensures software quality by ensuring code reviews are scheduled and completed as appropriate. • Assigns coding tasks to developers and ensures they are written to specifications. Ensures all code written is thoroughly unit-tested before release. Leads, delegates, and/or mentors in the development of technical deployment, and user and technical documentation. • Maintains detailed communication with management and with business line counterparts. Leads development activities, including conducting formal technical reviews, informal technical discussions, and other communication methods. • Leads the maintenance of PSI technologies' development, test, and production environments, including maintaining a project-specific development environment.The ideal candidate will typically possess the following: • Experience with .NET, C#, VB, SQL Server and Web Services. • Experience with N-Tiers, .NET 3.0, CSS Style Sheets a plus! •Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, information systems management, or related field, or four (4) years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. • Twelve (12) years experience in software development or software engineering in a large-sized enterprise with a mature software development lifecycle (SDLC) involving Software Configuration Management processes, including two (2) years experience leading software development teams. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients.
