Software Engineer II

Under minimal supervision, the Software Engineer II develops custom, proprietary applicationsused by both internal and external customers to meet business and usability requirements. Thisposition works within the design specifications to meet programming goals and deadlines in anaccurate manner. The Software Engineer enhances existing programs, responds to errors andemergency problems in the production system, and documents the application. The complexity,risk, size, and visibility of assignments will increase, commensurate with experience and acquiredskills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Perform coding against the design specifications based on best practices and coding standards. Use coding methods to enhance efficient program execution and performance and to reach optimum hardware utilization. Test and de-bug application. Document application and ongoing enhancements. Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement the optimal solution. Resolve bugs and errors in the production system, analyze reasons for failure, and revise procedures and documentation as needed. Reverse engineer existing systems. Support and provide guidance to Software Engineers I. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
