Sr. Communication Specialist - Provider Communications

As a pacesetter in our dynamic industry, Independence Blue Cross is not only a leader, but also an experienced innovator growing and expanding into new markets in ways that logically maximize our opportunities and success.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Planning, writing, editing, and managing the development of complex/innovative communications material for Providers including ad-hoc letters and newsletters. Planning and researching topics for communications to providers, meeting with internal clients to determine communications objectives and strategy, writing and editing materials for various provider communications vehicles to meet audience needs. Serving as a preceptor for new associates. Reviewing and editing communications material prepared by other staff members to ensure appropriate writing style is used, punctuation is correct, and corporate guidelines are followed; and providing technical/creative guidance to the communications staff. Serves as a resource to staff members in the manager’s absence to answer policy/procedure questions. Representing department for ad-hoc projects and interacting with all levels of associates to bring projects to completion.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:Degree in English, Communications or related field (or equivalent work experience). Five years related experience including 3 years in a communications department. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment. Client management experience. Knowledge of managed care principles preferred. Detail-oriented, flexible, with advanced written and verbal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Proficiency with word processing, database, and presentation software. Ability to effectively communicate potential problems and quickly analyze and develop feasible solutions Ability to act as both a team leader and team player
