Sr. Demand Planner

This individual will be an active member of a Corporate Planning Department and will gain partnership from team members. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

 MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

· Oversee and assist demand planners in generation of demand plans and forecasts in conjunction with sales planning cycles, financial planning, manufacturing planning, and material requirements planning

· Work closely with design, sales, and merchandising departments to ensure events are understood and accounted for in demand plans

· Understand industry trends and ensure that they are reflected in a statistical demand planning system. Understand and identify risk opportunities and communicate same to senior sales and supply chain management

· Ensure that demand plans support and tie to brand plans, design vision and budget requirements. Communicate to appropriate management representatives identified variances to plan

· Ensure that bias measures, metric reporting baselines and targets allowing established KPIs (Known Position Indicators) are being met

· Work closely with sales and merchandising organizations to understand issues and opportunities identified by business partners and incorporate information to plans, goals, and forecasts.  Communicate potential budget impacts to appropriate executives

· Take ownership for identification and disposition of excess/slow moving finished goods inventory; lead root cause analysis; identify and implement mitigation actions

· Partner with other team members to build skills in creating plans, goals, and forecasts that are reflective of the strategies, risks, and opportunities for businesses

· Ensure departmental change management processes are effective and implement improvements as identified in supporting systems and processes in order to meet key deliverables

· Maintain contacts with other Demand Planning Forecasting Supply Chain professionals, continuing to increase knowledge of most effective business means and changes with retailers and wholesalers through conference attendance, literature/books, or other business contacts

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ARE:  · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 5-7 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management

· Experience in merchandising or sales administration in the fashion/apparel industry

· Fundamentals of demand forecasting principles and inventory modeling

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

· Proficient and professional in both verbal and written communications
