Staff/Project Accountant

The Kor Group is a privately held real estate investment, development and management firm.  The portfolio encompasses popular hotels, resorts, as well as condominium and apartment complexes in strategic locations.  We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team!

 

Staff Accountant

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Corporate Accounting – Full cycle bookkeeping, including month end processing, bank reconciliations.  Adjusting JEs, accruals, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting. Maintaining the income journals, accounts receivables, accounts payable, Assist Controllers with weekly forecasts and balance sheet reconciliations.  Assist with maintenance of equity schedules.

 

Construction Accounting – Review of all commitments and requests for payment for proper authorization. Assist in construction loan draw preparation, reconciliation and analysis. Review A/P vouchers for completeness, checking commitments in files, and fully executed contracts or purchase orders. Enter contract requests and PO as commitments and check for fully executed contracts.  Review invoices and check requests.  Maintain Preliminary logs and keep track of conditionals and unconditional lien waivers.  Review invoices for proper allocation (coding) and cross-reference with the contracts in file.  Assist controller in tracking expenditures against budgets, and researching and gathering documentation as needed. Assist in any special projects as needed. 

 Qualifications:

-  Bachelor of Science in Accounting required with 3-5 years of accounting experience. 

-  Experience with construction and operational accounting

-  Experience with Consolidated financials is desirable. 

-  Audit and/or tax experience is a plus. 

-  Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are a must. 

-  Computer skills and proficient knowledge of Excel, Word, are required. MS Access skills are desirable. 

-  Timberline, Yardi, Mas 200 software or other ERP systems experience is highly desirable.
