Strategic IT or R&D Procurement Negotiations Manager

We invent, engineer and deliver technology solutions that drive business value, create social value and improve the lives of our customers.Job description This is an exciting position in the corporate function of Global Procurement (GP).  This Individual Contributor will be primarily responsible for negotiating strategic contracts for IT or R&D services as needed by our IT function or labs, including all business aspects of the contract, as well as all legal terms and conditions of the contract.  This individual will also be responsible for developing and leading global IT or R&D procurement strategies for the assigned IT or R&D services domains.  These strategies will include management of complex supplier relationships, negotiations that integrate key areas of potential risk or financial impact to HP, and globalization of specific domains.  More specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following as an individual contributor of the IT or R&D Partner Management Team: Negotiate complex, global deals and corresponding contracts Develop, drive and implement global strategies for IT or R&D domains, securing full alignment with our regional partners Develop stakeholder management strategies Communicate strategies both internally and externally to Global Procurement Act as an "advocate for change" and assist in management of change issues with employees, stakeholders and suppliers Foster close relationships within the IT or R&D community, networking to 1) identify opportunities for needs consolidation and demand management to be incorporated into a global procurement strategy; and 2) gain information on standards, roadmaps, marketing direction, etc from key IT or R&D stakeholders to ensure alignment with global procurement strategies Influence senior management and other key stakeholders to ensure sponsorship of procurement strategies and successful execution of plans Maintain industry specific knowledge Consult with management team on strategic procurement processes, methodologies and strategies Ensure that established business control standards are applied to all engagements Manage the on-going execution and delivery of global strategies Operate in fast-paced environment chartered with managing a multitude of diverse and complex procurement projectsYour profile   Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree or equivalent experience, JD degree preferred 2-5 years procurement experience - specific IT or R&D procurement experience preferred Proven experience in negotiating all aspects of contracts, including legal terms and conditions as well as business specifics Knowledge of automated procurement systems Project management skills Contract management skills Interpersonal communication skills Experience in high tech supplier management environment Experience in leading a team © 2007 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
