Strategic Partnerships Manager

The Strategic Partnerships Manager supervises the development, solicitation, and execution of sponsorship and partnership opportunities. This positions grows revenue in all of MPI product lines, including partnerships, advertising, and MPI Foundation.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: Works with internal departments to identify partnership opportunities and determine possible partners and benefitsIdentifies and solicits customers for partnership opportunities that include live events, educational programs, and other MPI initiatives, via phone, e-mail, and in person meetingsNegotiates and finalizes partnership agreementsMeets individual sales targets each fiscal year and works as part of the Marketplace Sales Team to reach team and department goalsWorks closely with the entire global sales organization (including Advertising Sales and MPI Foundation) to actively cross-sell MPI marketplace product line to provide a comprehensive marketing package to customers and to support the goals of the entire sales teamActively participates with cross-functional teams to identify and implement sponsorship opportunities and to fulfill sponsor benefitsAnalyzes the solicitation and marketing opportunities available to determine the best methods for promoting opportunities, as well as recognizing sponsors/partners.Ensures all partnerships are handled professionally with a commitment to exceed the stakeholder’s expectationsAnalyzes and anticipates MPI’s long-term needs and strivse to create multi-year strategies with suppliersWork with the Events Team to contribute to and support the internal RFP processManages the valuation of sponsorship benefits on an ongoing basis to ensure they are in-line with other offerings within and outside MPI based on research of other sales force initiativesManages the member benefit program (i.e. renews agreements, ensures all MPI-required items are carried out, documents usage by MPI members, researches industry trends, and makes recommendations for terminating or adding affinity partnerships)Works closely with the Strategic Partnerships Coordinator and delegates where appropriate with notification to the Director of Strategic Partnerships.Required travel approximately 20% annuallyOther duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or equivalentFive or more years of related industry, fundraising, sales, marketing and/or partnership experienceThree years customer service experienceComputer proficiency
Preferred Education and Experience: Association experience Sponsorship sales training and/or experienceExperience managing relationshipsBudget experienceContract negotiations
