Supply Chain/Procurement Manager

PURPOSE OF JOB AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Supply Chain/Inventory Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all phases of day-to-day contract manufacturer and MRO procurement activities to ensure on time customer order fulfillment, while maintaining high quality and appropriate inventory levels.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrated experience with purchasing commodities and managing vendor relationship.Demonstrated experience with improving inventory turns to 8 or higher.Visit contract manufacturer facilities, review best practice metrics and promotion of our Supplier Development Process. Negotiate contracts with outside suppliers ensuring high quality materials at the’ best’ possible prices. Closely monitor vendor production/delivery schedules and escalate shortages or other production problems to management as appropriate. Work closely with engineering to manage end of life components and identify cost reduction opportunities. Maintains accurate bills of materials.Track and monitor vendor service, quality, and timeliness, and research new suppliers as necessary. Manage vendor warranty/return process. Aid in cash flow projections and vendor payable management. Ensure the procurement functions are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BS in business, purchasing, supply chain, engineering or related field, MBA preferred.Exposure to ERP systems (Oracle preferred) as well as knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Quality Systems is important.5 years of progressive responsibility in supply chain management required, preferably in a global outsourcing environment. CPM/APICS certification preferred. Knowledge of Butterfly Valves or valve industry products, services and technical terminology preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills required. Some travel required, light internationally.
