Support Services Supervisor

Founded in 1931, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the world's largest and most respected nonprofit institute of gemological research and learning.  GIA is currently offering an exceptional career opportunity as a production oriented Support Services Supervisor  for the second shift.

 

Job Description:

 Interacts with daytime Management staff from other departments to ensure proper and expedient stone flow through all the departments open during the second shift.Informs daytime Management staff of work performed and problems encountered during the 2nd shift; communicates current status of work to be completed for the following day to daytime Management team.Reports any problems that my need further attention to Management.Monitors daily productivity, collects stone counts and sends data to appropriate staff.Supervises staff in accordance to company policy.Functions as point of contact for all work related inquiries during the second shift.Communicates effectively, gets along with coworkers and management and deals with others effectively and professionally under pressure.

 

Requirements:

 Bachelors degree or equivalent from two or four year college or technical school3-5 years supervisory experienceExcellent organizational and planning skillsThe ability to think through processes, ask questions, and communicate expectations.
