 Position Summary

 

The System Architect position is responsible for delivering technical specifications for assigned projects.  Technical specifications are created based upon the functional specification provided by a Business Analyst.  The system architect is responsible for designing and documenting the necessary objects, stored procedures and functions that make up a solution. 

 

The system architect will work directly with the Business Analyst and developers over the course of a project to ensure that the solution being developed adheres to company standards and follows the provided specifications. 

 

This role reports directly to the Director, Technology Development.

 Principle Duties and Responsibilities

·  Design solutions with re usability in mind.  It is imperative that this position recognizes the business needs of ACCENT and understands when it is appropriate to build a reusable component for certain functionality.

·  Design database schemas based on a given ERD.

·  Design application and reporting solutions based on function design documents.

·  Deliver technical documentation to the development group and ensure that development is adhering to the design.

·  Facilitate the creation of design and development best practices.

·  Aid in the definition and enforcement of development and reporting standards for the IT organization.

·  Provide coaching to members of the entire IT staff on development and reporting best practices.

·  Perform development and reporting duties as needed.  A small amount of development work may be involved.

·  Maintain a positive attitude and support ACCENT’s Commitment to Excellence.

·  Perform other duties as assigned

 Candidate Specifications

 

·  BS or equivalent work experience.

·  Expertise in.NET, VB, C# and SQL development.

·  Expertise in OLAP reporting and data warehousing concepts.

·  Expertise in relational databases, preferably SQL Server.

·  Ability to follow and design process maps and data processing models.

·  At least 5 years experience in a senior development role.

·  Proficient PC skills with Windows 2000. .

·  Effective organizational and communication skills.

·  Professional attitude with Enthusiasm enhanced with reliability and a Whatever it takes attitude.
