SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

This will have primary day-to-day operational responsibility for Microsoft Windows-based production, development servers, LAN desktops, and other network equipment.  This position will provide internal LAN/desktop support and external technical support to end users of the e-learning platform.  Install, configure, and support third party applications, and assist in research and development.  Candidates should have excellent verbal and communication skills, ability to create system and procedural documentation, and the ability to work independently.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDaily maintenance and monitoring of production and third-party softwareServer, Workstation and Network hardware installation, monitoring and supportDaily management of Veritas enterprise tape back-up solutionDaily management, administration, and maintenance of a Microsoft Exchange server environmentDaily management of Microsoft SQL 2000 / 2003 ServersProvide escalated Tier 2 end-user technical supportDaily administration of management of WatchGuard network security solutionDaily administration and management of network operating center’s Internet connectivityDevelop and maintain all configuration policies and procedures for systems, applications, security, and networksTroubleshoots LAN and WAN performance issuesConfigure Internal and External DNS serversFamiliarity with Failover and Bonding technology for Internet circuitryDevelop, maintain, and routinely test disaster recovery planRecommend system upgrades, patches, new applications, and equipment as neededOther duties as assigned

 REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s Degree required3-5 years of proven experienceMicrosoft Certified System EngineerFamiliarity with ASP.net and T-SQL a plusPreferred experience with data integration between multiple operating centersExpertise in PC with a strong professional background in most of the following applications:Microsoft SQL serverWindows 2000/2003 and internet information serversVeritas backup execMicrosoft Exchange ServerWatchGuard Firebox firewallsWindows XP, Windows 2000, and Macintosh Operating Systems (Testing purposes)Industry Standard Network and LAN desktop certifications Active DirectoryMicrosoft Certified Database AdministratorExperience with multi-media development, programming, or web-site development a plus
