Our professionals provide comprehensive financial planning services to large employee and executive groups including the development and delivery of financial education workshops. We currently have an excellent career opportunity for a Financial Planner Line (FPL) Staff member, a position which offers the potential for learning, leadership, and career advancement to the right candidate. Using cutting-edge technology and working with team-oriented colleagues, the successful candidate will work on multiple and challenging financial counseling engagements that serve our clients' overall financial needs and be responsible for providing quality financial planning, primarily over the phone, which leads to long-term relationships. This is a salaried position only, with no commissions, product sales, or other equity-based compensation available. Responsibilities Acquire expertise of specific benefit and retirement plans for existing and new client engagements. Demonstrate a basic understanding of financial planning concepts including stock options, company-provided benefit plans, and income tax matters, and effectively convey this knowledge to various clients. Provide financial counseling, primarily over the phone, with the ability to build lasting client relationships. Participate in and contribute to FPL training, including engagement-specific training. Facilitate FPL communications and provide ample assistance to team members by sharing knowledge to develop and enhance service delivery. Maintain a personal and firm-mandated commitment to continuing education for professional development and growth. Thoroughly and accurately analyze information and reports. Input and process, in a timely manner, comprehensive financial planning analyses for the client's financial situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions and action steps. Create and properly maintain FPL participants' computer records, cases and files, learning to take ownership of accounts and responsibilities. Participate in individual and company client meetings, interact with HR benefit professionals, and work within a team environment to deliver quality integrated advisory services to clients. Assist in FPL new business presentations, and creating or testing new tools, as appropriate. Leverage technology to continually maximize productivity. Adhere to FPL work schedules and policies. Contribute to a flexible, professional and team-oriented working culture that fosters both FPL and personal development. Perform other related duties as warranted. To qualify, candidates must have:a bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting, finance, economics or a related field a CFP, CFA, EA, JD, CPA or other related certification or in pursuit thereof, or relevant experience to an area of specialization Series 65 (or the ability to obtain within a reasonably mandated period of time) at least 1 year of relevant experience excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability strong customer service skills high written and verbal communication proficiency a commitment to learning in a tax and financial planning technology environment proficiency in technology applicationsCA-San Diego
