Within TARAS, we have tax accounting and tax process improvement professionals who work to help improve a company's investment in technical capabilities, process redesign and tax technology. Ernst & Young's National TARAS practice specializes and works with tax departments design and implementation of tax software, supporting processes and structures in an effort to reallocate resources to higher value-added activities. We offer process review, redesign, software implementation oversight and enhancement, and change management services to identify and deliver improvements in the people, process, technology, and components of a corporate tax function. We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior in our TARAS practice. TARAS provides clients with improved quality of tax reporting and risk management; increased integration of tax within the business; increased efficiency and productivity; enhanced quality, timeliness and accuracy of tax data; and enhanced perception of the tax function as a contributor. Responsibilities Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with timely and responsive services and work products. Supervise the work of Staff professionals. Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts. Discuss moderately complex tax issues with the engagement team and client management. Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations. Thoroughly and accurately analyze information. Prepare practical and innovative approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions. Share tax planning ideas with others. Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals. Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans and assist in making quality decisions in complex and judgmental areas.To qualify, candidates must have: a bachelor's degree, with an emphasis in accounting a minimum of 2 years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry CPA certification broad exposure to the federal income tax provision (FAS109) process; preferably on SEC registrants excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills demonstrated business development skills the ability to travel at least 75% of the time We seek candidates with strong tax functional knowledge, and the demonstrated ability to team with and motivate others, and build relationships with clients and colleagues.
