Ernst & Young's State & Local Tax (SALT) practice provides the knowledge, experience, resources, and processes to bridge the gap between what is expected of a company's tax department and its current capacity. In addition to having depth of technical knowledge and experience, our professionals are knowledgeable about the business challenges companies are facing and how those challenges affect a company's state and local tax position. Our national network of practitioners focuses on both direct and indirect state and local taxes by offering a broad array of services. We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior in our National State & Local Tax practice. Responsibilities Assist sales tax group with developing proposals for sales/use tax process improvement specific to clients needs; these process improvements could include system implementations, managed compliance agreements, taxability matrices or other. System Implementations: Assisting and managing multiple projects integrating Transactional Tax Engines (Vertex, Taxware, Sabrix) with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications, including Oracle, SAP, and/or custom/legacy. Work with client tax team and business units to develop functional requirements document for sales tax and value added tax process within financial systems. Managed Compliance Agreements: Assist EY management team with developing client proposals for managed compliance engagements. Work with states and clients to implement managed compliance agreements. Taxability Matrices: Assist management team with developing proposals for taxability matrices. Work with EY staff and client to populate taxability matrices as per client needs. To qualify, candidates must have: BS in Accounting or equivalent degree 2+ years experience integrating Transactional Tax Engines with ERP applications 3+ years experience in sales & use tax 4+ years experience managing complex ERP projects may be substituted for relevant tax experience Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, negotiation, and inter-personal skills Demonstrated problem-solving skills Demonstrated experience as a leader of multi-disciplinary global project teams Accounting knowledge and experience Desktop systems awareness Microsoft office products such as Word, Excel and PowerpointDesired: Certified Public Accountant or CMI (required for Manager level) Advanced degree with specialization in tax or accounting GA-Atlanta
