Technical Business Developer – Senior Level ARA Southeast Division, Raleigh, NC Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a senior level technical business developer to join our expanding group in Raleigh, NC. The successful applicant will be responsible for marketing ARA technologies and engineering expertise to a variety of government customers such as DTRA, MDA, JFCOM, AFRL, EPA, DOT, DHS, etc., as well as commercial customers, when appropriate, such as BP, Chevron, etc. Principal duties will include: (1) leading the identification of new opportunities that ARA’s Southeast Division should pursue, (2) initiating and leading marketing visits with the customers for these opportunities, and (3) ensuring that responsive follow-up meetings and proposals to these customers occur. We reward proactive marketing, and we have an excellent salary and benefits package.   ARA is an equal opportunity employer Qualifications:    Education: BS, MS, or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.   Required Skills: Desire and demonstrated excellence in developing and maintaining relationships with government/DoD customers Demonstrated ability to “open doors” and build relationships with new customers Thorough knowledge of a DOD or government agency/sector/organization At least seven years working experience Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment Ability to work with little supervision and set/achieve interim milestones towards a higher task objective US citizen with ability to obtain a DoD security clearance   Desired Skills: Desire and demonstrated ability to conceive of novel technical solutions to difficult problems in ARA technology areas or complementary areas Demonstrated success in proposal preparation Teaming and management of subcontractors Technical project management Understanding of government contracting process   Other: The job location is Raleigh, North Carolina or the Washington, DC area. Significant travel is required.
