Technical (IT) Consultant

This ENTRY LEVEL role as a Technical Consultant will consist of taking our uniquely powerful intelligence management solutions and configure, integrate and extend its core functionality to meet each customer’s unique needs.

 

Memex, Inc. is the leading provider of Intelligence Management Solutions to customers in Law Enforcement, Military and Private Industry throughout the world.

 

The role requires someone who can combine first class technical skills with business process analysis and knowledge of Intelligence Management best practices. Consultants spend a large percentage of their time in customer facing situations and must be able to act in an appropriate business-like manner at all times.

 

Acting under the guidance of a Professional Services Principal Consultant or Project Manager, specific tasks carried out by the Technical Consultant include: Definition and documentation of business process and system requirements through workshops with customer personnel. Installation and configuration of the Memex Intelligence Management solution. Definition and subsequent development of integration strategies linking the Memex Intelligence Solution with customers existing system using ETL and other techniques. Development of custom extensions to the Memex Intelligence Management Solution using XML and web services based interfaces. Responding to system support requests and problem troubleshooting.  

 

Travel throughout the USA and beyondis a regular part of the role as is occasional evening and weekend work. 

 

SPECIFIC REQUIRMENTS: 4 Year Bachelors Degree in Computer Science preferred - though other degrees with significant computing and software engineering content will be considered. Experience of software development in Java, .Net or another object oriented environment. Knowledge of SQL and Relational Databases concepts. Knowledge of UNIX / Linux operating systems. Knowledge and understanding of XML and related technologies. Knowledge of web services. Knowledge of Perl and or UNIX shell scripting.  Knowledge of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tools and techniques is beneficial but not essential.
